Elevating lithium battery conversion
Conevco brings the award-winning Duesenfeld process to the U.S. — 90%+ material recovery, zero furnaces, zero hazardous waste. Exclusive U.S. rights.
The Challenge
Dangerously Low Recycling | Current Tech Destroys Value | Massive Capacity Gap | National Security Risk
Lithium-ion battery recycling is falling dangerously behind. Today, less than 5% of lithium-ion batteries are recycled — compared to nearly 100% for lead-acid batteries — and the technology most commonly used destroys up to two-thirds of a battery's recoverable value while creating hazardous waste. The gap is only widening: 550,000 tons of end-of-life batteries are projected to reach the North American market by 2033, with virtually no recycling infrastructure ready to handle them. At the same time, critical rare earth materials continue flowing overseas, deepening a supply chain dependency that's now considered a national security concern.
The Solution
Deep Discharge | Manual Disassembly | Shredding & Sorting | Chemical Extraction
Conevco holds exclusive U.S. rights to the Duesenfeld process, a safer, cleaner, and higher-recovery battery recycling technology proven over 12 years of profitable operation in Europe. The process recovers more than 90% of battery materials at battery-grade quality, without furnaces, special permits, or hazardous emissions.
The timing couldn't be more critical. A wave of first-generation EV batteries is reaching end-of-life starting this decade, and the recycling window to meet it is opening now. Regulatory pressure is rising, with growing EPA and state-level requirements driving demand for certified recyclers. And as the U.S. works to reduce dependence on foreign rare earth materials, domestic recycling capacity has become a bipartisan priority. Conevco is positioned to meet this moment — with $140 billion already committed to lithium battery infrastructure across Alabama and Georgia, and a proven, ready-to-deploy technology with zero R&D risk.
